Opportunities to Serve at TLC

  • The Altar Guild serves by ensuring that the sanctuary and the vessels for Holy Communion are prepared prior to Divine Service and cared for afterward. Training is provided.

    Ideal commitment: 2-3 hours a month.

  • Operation Barnabas seeks to serve by identifying and meeting the needs of individuals and families within the armed forces—especially those service men and women within our congregation.

    Ideal commitment: Varies

  • Children’s Sunday School workers serve by teaching the faith to our children during the 9:00 am Bible Study Hour. Workers serve in teams of two or more. Curriculum and training provided. Open to adults and high school youth.

    Ideal commitment: 1-2 Sundays/month.

    Prerequisite: Six months of attendance and must submit to a background check/interview.

  • The choir serves by singing special music during services throughout the year. Rehearsal is 1x/week; Sep-June. Open to youth (6th grade-up) and adults. No audition required.

    Ideal commitment: 2 hours/week.

  • Communion Assistants are men who aid the pastor in the distribution of Holy Communion.

    Ideal commitment: 1 Sunday/month

  • The word deacon means servant. Deacons serve by attending to the spiritual and human needs of those in our congregation. Examples include: visiting sick/shut-ins, sending cards on special occasions, taking food to new moms, diligent prayer for those in need, etc. Deacons work closely with Pastor Doebler and with one another to carry out their responsibilities.

  • Greeters serve by welcoming those who attend our services, handing out bulletins, and assisting visitors with helpful information.

    Ideal commitment: 1 Sunday/month

  • The Lawn Care Team serves by keeping the church grounds neatly mowed and trimmed. Equipment is provided.

    Ideal commitment: 2-3 hours/month

  • Lutheran Women’s Missionary League serves by supporting the various outreach efforts of our congregation. All women of the congregation are invited to participate in meetings and activities.

  • Special Ministries serves by organizing human relief efforts throughout the year. We work closely with other organizations to identify and meet needs in our community.

  • The Stream Team serves by running the livestream for our weekly services. Training provided.

    Ideal commitment: 1-2 Sundays/month

  • The stewardship team serves by encouraging the congregation to use the various gifts God gives to each of us so that people are connected to Jesus and God’s kingdom grows. If you have accounting, bookkeeping, and other financial administration gifts, then this might be a great fit for you

  • Ushers serve by assisting visitors who may have questions about the service, collecting the offering, and leading the congregation to the Lord's Table for Holy Communion. Ushers serve in teams of 2-3.

    Ideal commitment: 1-2 Sundays/month
