Teaching and baptism…Word and Sacrament…it’s how disciples of Jesus are made and strengthened. That is why we give so much attention and investment to education and teaching here at Trinity. We want you and your family to be fed the Word so that you can be strong disciples your whole life long.
Sunday Morning Routine & Classes
In a Nutshell…
Our Sunday School program meets from 9:00-9:45 AM September-June. During this time, we offer age appropriate classes Pre-K through Adult.
Children Pre-K through 5th grade are taught all the foundational stories of the Bible over a three-year cycle.
Youth 6th-12th grade engage in a bible study drawn from one of the weekly lectionary texts.
Adults attend Pastor Doebler’s Bible Study.
Sunday Morning Routine…
Here’s what you can expect on a Sunday morning (beginning September 13, 2026):
(9:00) Sunday School Opening: Everyone (children, youth, and adults) gathers in the Sanctuary for a brief time of singing, reciting the Apostles’ Creed, recitation from the Small Catechism, and prayer.
(9:05) Dismissal to Sunday School: Children and youth are escorted to their classrooms by their teachers. Adults remain in the sanctuary for Pastor’s Bible Study.
(9:45) Return from Sunday School: Children and youth are escorted back to the sanctuary to rejoin their parents. Sunday School/Pastor’s Bible Study concludes.
(10:00) Divine Service begins.
Annual Registration Form
If you would like for your child (Pre-K through 12th grade) to participate in our Sunday School program, then please download, print, and fill out one registration form for each child per academic year.
Bring the completed form with you and give it to a Sunday School volunteer/teacher when they are led from the Sanctuary to their classroom. If you are not able to fill out this form in advance, don’t worry, we have extras available for you.
To ensure the safety of our children, ALL Sunday School teachers and assistants have been screened according to the protective standards recommended by Ministry Safe.)
Youth Confirmation
Youth confirmation is a special time of faith formation for youth that meets on a two-year cycle Oct-May (new confirmands can join the class in either year). There is no age requirement, but most of TLC’s confirmands begin instruction around 5th or 6th grade.
During Year A, confirmands take a deep dive into the Old Testament—learning how to recognize that all the Scriptures are ultimately about Jesus!
During Year B, we study Luther’s Small Catechism—which is a summary of the chief articles of faith that Lutherans believe, teach, and confess.
The capstone of this class is the Rite of Confirmation, which is a public recognition that the church is obeying Jesus’ command to baptize and teach the faith.
Pastor Doebler teaches Youth Confirmation. It currently meets on Sunday afternoons. Contact Pastor if you would like to enroll your youth in confirmation class.
The Catechumenate
Are you seeking to grow in your faith? Do you have questions about what Lutherans believe, teach, and confess? Do you desire to be baptized or to receive Holy Communion here at Trinity?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider enrolling in the 2026-27 Catechumenate.
From September through March, The Catechumenate will meet once a week for faith formation and instruction. Catechumens will study the Word of God, learn the Small Catechism, pray, and encourage one another as we grow in the life of faith.
Those who desire the gifts of Holy Baptism and/or Holy Communion are especially encouraged to enroll. Those who are already communicant members of Trinity are also cordially invited to participate—your presence will be an encouragement and example of the life of Christian discipleship to our catechumens.
The Catechumenate will meet Sunday evenings from 5:00-6:15 beginning September 20 (with monthly/seasonal breaks). We may be able to provide childcare for younger children if there is a need. Contact our office to register or if you have any questions.
Men’s Bible Study: The Armory
Our Men’s Bible Study is called The Armory. St. Paul tells us in Ephesians 6 that we are to be equipped with the full armor of God.
We gather monthly (2nd Saturday/ 9:00-10:30) as men to “armor up” through worship, prayer, and the encouragement that we receive through the brotherhood. For more information contact the church office.
Many of our men have also signed up for Memento. Memento sends out a daily devotional that is specifically written for men and offers various Bible reading plans and suggested personal disciplines. You can find out more by going to Memento70.com
Women’s Bible Study
11:30 am-12:30 pm Thursdays—Sharyn Leiding leads this class. It meets in the conference room.
